Jeanne was diagnosed with advanced colo-rectal cancer in 2007; she passed away Jan 2009 after enduring nearly two years of treatment with incredible bravery and good humor to the end. I was privileged and honored to know her as my closest friend and partner in life for 40 years-my feeling of loss is intense! In addition to being brilliant and prolific in her fields of study, Jeanne was the most kind, generous, empathetic and helpful person that I have personally known. She made everyone she met feel welcome and respected. She touched many people during her too-short life.
